Attendance
Our band’s success depends on the commitment and reliability of each member. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential to our shared goals. The rehearsal and concert schedule is provided at the start of each season, and members should make efforts to avoid conflicts. If you must miss a rehearsal or concert, timely communication is key for both planned and unplanned absences.
Planned Absences: Email the Music Director at wellesleytownband+director@gmail.com as early as possible to help with rehearsal and part planning.
Unplanned Absences (e.g., illness or emergencies): Notify the Music Director at wellesleytownband+director@gmail.com as soon as possible. If you can, also inform a fellow section member.
Extended or Frequent Absences: The Music Director will determine whether a member may participate in the end-of-season concert.
Concert Absences: If you know you’ll miss a concert, the Music Director will decide if and how you should take part in rehearsals for that performance.
Health/Illness Policies
Due to the nature of indoor wind instrument playing and our group’s demographics, it’s essential that all members remain vigilant about their health. If you feel unwell or have any symptoms—especially respiratory—please do NOT attend rehearsal. Only return once you are symptom (including fever)-free for at least 24 hours without use of fever reducing medication
Snow/Weather Cancellation Information
The band follows the Wellesley Public School (WPS) snow/weather cancellation decisions. If the schools aree closed our rehearsal is cancelled. Members should check local media and the WPS website for school closure information. We will also try to email band members when a rehearsal is cancelled.
