Attendance
The growth and success that our band shares is dependent on your individual effort and dedication to our team. Each member is integral to the success of the group and is an important part of our band community. Attendance and punctuality by each member are integral to our shared success. The concert and rehearsal schedule is provided at the start of each band season, and every effort should be made to avoid absences. Timely communication is key in the event of all planned/unplanned absences.

-
All Planned Absences: Notify the Music Director (wellesleytownband+director@gmail.com) as soon as possible in order to aid in rehearsal/part assignment planning.
-
All Unplanned Absences (illness, emergency, etc.): Contact the Music Director (wellesleytownband+director@gmail.com) as soon as possible, and also if possible, another section member (see member contact information list).
-
In the case of excessive or extended absences (planned or unplanned), it is at the discretion of the Music Director if a member is eligible to take part in the end-of-term concert.
-
In the case of an anticipated concert absence, it is at the discretion of the Music Director whether, and to what extent, the member should participate in the rehearsals for that performance.
Health/COVID Policies
Given our demographics, and the nature of playing wind instruments indoors, all band members MUST continue to be very vigilant as to their health status. Other infections, including influenza and RSV, are as important to avoid spreading to fellow band members as is COVID-19.

1. Anyone who feels at all ill and has any symptoms (especially respiratory) must NOT come to a rehearsal, even if COVID negative. Do not return until all symptoms have gone.

2. Anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 must stay home and not return to rehearsals until they are symptom-free and test negative.
3. Up-to-date vaccination for all of these diseases is strongly encouraged but not required.
Snow/Weather Cancellation Information
The band follows the Wellesley Public School (WPS) snow/weather cancellation decisions. If the schools aree closed our rehearsal is cancelled. Members should check local media and the WPS website for school closure information. We will also try to email band members when a rehearsal is cancelled.
